The Apprenticeship programme will equip you with all the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to succeed with Halfords. From there, a career with Halfords awaits.

  • Autocentre – Vehicle Technician Apprenticeships

    Our highly trained technicians at over 300 Halfords Autocentres across England, Scotland and Wales, carry out MOTs, car servicing and repairs for over 1 million customers a year.

    If you are fascinated by all things technical, have an inquiring mind and an interest in cars, you could be enjoying a job that is different every day.

    These practical, highly skilled roles ensure we deliver dealership quality work on any make or model of car. So, as a Halfords Autocentre Apprentice, you will get to master a range of technologies across all kinds of cars – that’s a lot of valuable, career building knowledge.

    For the duration of your Apprenticeship you will work at one of our Autocentres with your mentor for four days per week and attend a local college one day per week, during this time you will gain the knowledge and skills to become one of the best technicians in the business.

    We offer two apprenticeship progammes

    For Level 2:

    Entry requirements:

    • Level 1 Light Vehicle Service and Repair (desirable)
    • GCSE A-C grade or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths Apprenticeship

    Over 2.5 years you will study and achieve a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Autocare. 

    For Level 3:

    Entry requirements:

    • Level 2 Autocare (essential)
    • GCSE A-C grade/ Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalents) in English and Maths

    Over two years, you will study and achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle).
