I was drawn to a career with Halfords based on its reputation for looking after its colleagues, I also saw it as an opportunity to develop my knowledge and experience in the customer service field.
My role mainly involves answering a range of customer queries that include, product and service questions along with online order related enquiries.
On a typical day I would either be appointed with the task of phones or live chat, in between these I then focus on our email queues to ensure that all points of contact get the same amount of attention.
My favourite thing about working here would be the team that I am a part of. I always feel that I get help and support if needed but also have the option to help and support other colleagues.
The biggest challenge that I face day-to-day would be diffusing situations where a customer is unhappy and their loyalty to Halfords is in question, however it is satisfying when this is turned around.
I find that the training and development gives excellent individual focus to every colleague to ensure that they have the opportunity to develop in every way possible.
In order to succeed at Halfords you need to have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations, whether on the phone or in the office. You also need to be confident in providing support to new members of the team and other colleagues.
