I chose to work for Halfords for two main reasons. When I first visited, the colleagues were very welcoming, and it felt like a great family to be part of. Secondly, it is also a place with numerous growth and development opportunities.
I am responsible for analysing and deploying £110M in payroll budget. This involves creating regular reports for the Retail Director, analysing what works with the method of distribution and recognising and fixing potential problems
I have morning coffee with the team (turned family), pull out and analyse reports, and resolve Store Manager and colleague queries.
Even the most senior management of the business are easily accessible.
It is also a warm, friendly, bubbly and fun environment. Halfords makes you look forward to Mondays.
Filling the shoes of a long serving colleague meant I had much to learn in a short time. I made several mistakes in my first eight months in the business which was quite frustrating. I have been able to get through this with the help and support of the excellent managers here at Halfords.
The training and development opportunities are unlimited. In the first six months of working I was sent on two hugely beneficial external training courses.
I have been given the opportunity to build and transform a fully functional planning tool for Store Managers across the business.
The ability to click and work very well with colleagues around the business.
Do it because it you are only a small step away from the beginning of an amazing and rewarding career.
